BIPs Bring Students Together: Exploring the human and political dimensions of Europe’s energy transition
Students from Jönköping University (Sweden), Rey Juan Carlos University (Spain), and Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (Finland) colaborated in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Green Governance and Energy Transition (GREET). Through a combination of online collaboration and in-person learning, the programme offered students a unique opportunity to work across borders and disciplines to tackle one of Europe’s most pressing challenges.
The Human Side of Sustainability
The GREET programme focused on the societal, political, and governance dimensions of the energy transition, demonstrating how sustainability challenges are shaped not only by technology and economics.
“One of the most valuable aspects of the course is seeing students put theory into practice. Through the role-play simulation, they learn to analyse complex societal challenges, argue from different stakeholder perspectives, and negotiate realistic compromises. For us as teachers, the BIP is an inspiring and rewarding collaboration that opens new opportunities for both education and research.”
